Our history
In 1983 the company Näsström System was founded in Skellefteå in northern Sweden, selling conveyance and hydraulic components. A branch was opened the following year in Umeå.
By 1990 this company had established a branch in the capital city, Stockholm.
In 1996 the company was sold to Atle and in 1997 a new branch was opened in Örnsköldsvik. After a merger with Alentec Hydraulik in 1997 the aftermarket sales concept SlangSnabben became a part of the company.
In 2001 ownership changed when 3i and Ratos acquired 50% of Atle Industri each.
In 2002 a warehouse in Falkenberg in the south of Sweden was started to bring the company’s products closer to customers in the south west of Sweden.
Specma Hydraulic AB acquired the entire company stock in the summer of 2004 and in the beginning of 2005 the company changed name to Specma Component AB. The customer structure of the two companies was streamlined, so that Specma Component focused on expanding the distribution network SlangSnabben, and on smaller and medium-sized customers, while Specma Hydraulic focused on major OEM customers.
In March 2006 the Ljungby branch was established, to further strengthen Specma Component’s competitiveness in southern Sweden. As a step towards acquiring JMS Systemhydraulik a branch was established in the autumn of 2007 connected to JMS’ production plant in Sjömarken, Borås. Volume increase in recent years has been good and in 2007 our turnover was SEK 234 million.
In the autumn of 2008 yet another major step was taken in Specma Hydraulic Group, to prepare our organisation for continued expansion on the market. The five Swedish companies in the group merged as one powerful company, with three specialized sales divisions, which each supply the Group’s entire product range for their respective markets. Our market name became Specma Hydraulic – Component Division.
