Policy for ethical purchasing

Specma will respect the basic human and union rights acknowledged by UN and ILO. Specma will determine that ethical guidelines are made available to suppliers, and through dialogue check that the suppliers work actively in accordance with these guidelines in production, distribution and sales of products to Specma.

Specma:
  • will in selection of suppliers, above and beyond competitive considerations, take into account human and employee rights. This means

– that employees are appropriately paid for the work performed
– that they have regulated working hours
– that they have a safe working environment
– that child or forced labour is combated
– that discrimination according to gender, race or religion is combated

  • will work actively to establish measures to ensure that products and services are produced in such a way that neither employees' rights nor human rights come under threat
  • will demand that suppliers to Specma are able to document that production is carried out in accordance with the Specma ethical policy and ethical guidelines, and can develop routines to verify this
  • will participate in establishing measures to ensure that the production of products for customers fulfils the ethical guidelines. This will be reviewed in connection with the supplier review procedure
  • will through dialogue with the supplier work towards continual improvements in the supplier's production conditions, which do not fulfil the ethical guidelines
  • will work systematically with ethical aspects of product purchasing and sales
  • intends to influence debate on ethics in purchasing through dialogue with owners, customers, suppliers and other interested parties
